Pets in Need Fund
The Pets in Need Fund of Berks County Community Foundation was established in 2005 to provide grants to pay for the care of pets that have life-threatening medical conditions that can be solved by treatment from a veterinarian. “No one should have to make the choice to put a pet with a treatable condition to sleep for purely financial reasons,” the fund’s founder said. The fund continues to grow and, as it does, more pets can be helped, which is her goal. She said: “I know that for every pet we save through a grant from the Pets in Need Fund, there are many more that could be helped.” The fund improves the quality of life of animals and allows their owners peace of mind that they have a healthy and happy pet they can continue to love.
