Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) - Youth and Philanthropy Fund

The Youth and Philanthropy Fund provides grants to Berks County programs that address youth-related issues that are considered critical needs by the foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee.

The Youth Advisory Committee of Berks County Community Foundation proudly presents the 2017-2018 theme for grant proposals:

Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing

Problem Statement: The Youth Advisory Committee has identified mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, as a chief concern facing students in Berks County. YAC would like to align its resources to provide grants for programs and projects that look to improve the overall wellbeing in area students.

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) of Berks County Community Foundation will make up to $15,000 in grants available in 2018 for programs and projects that support preventative measures on and/or ongoing support services for students coping with mental health issues. Organizations applying should note the following:

- Youth (grades 7-12 ONLY) must be the target audience for the project/program.

- YAC has specifically requested that projects/programs target students directly, and not provide education and/or other services to parents/guardians.

Select grant applicants will be asked to participate in a site visit with our YAC members.
Site visits will occur in February and March. Decisions will be made in April. Funds will be available in May.

Email Keri Shultz, YAC Advisor, at yacadvisor@bccf.org or Monica Reyes, Health & Human Services Program Officer, at monicar@bccf.org with questions regarding the theme or application.
